When you say chair an event, does that mean you have to run it? That would be a great thing to put on your c.v. though it sounds kinda scary, especially if you have to do it all on your own. I wish you the very best of luck in all of that! xxx

I think it’s pretty good because it lets you have a new type of experience. Since you’ve never chaired anything before, why not take up this opportunity and learn something? We gain success by making mistakes. Just as long you don’t make grave mistakes. I’m sure you’ll be able to do it. Have a little more confidence in yourself!
