21st Birthday Part III
Thursday, August 3rd, 2006 @ 3:25
(I know, you must be thinking, “It’s about time!”)
I actually typed a really long post on this and I accidentally clicked the close button. Well done, Nadine
So I met Elisia and she asked me to accompany her to Chinatown to collect something for her sister. I thought, well, I had time to kill so why not?
When we got there, we had to find this building and she went straight into a KTV lounge. I was going, “You’re collecting something here?” But she told me to follow her and follow her I did.
She led me to the very last door and when she opened it, I was greeted with a loud “SURPRISE!” and the pops of party poppers. Yep, the 7ners surprised me.

My surprised look
I must say that I’m not much of a fan of KTVs since people usually go there to sing chinese songs and I don’t listen to them let alone sing them. They do have english songs but the video for the songs are usually not the original music videos but lousy ones showing some blond girl running around the lake surrounded by green, green grass. (Urg)
However, I had fun with the 7ners since most of us sing english songs. And Elisia and Perr sing japanese ones! (We sang YUI’s “LIFE” later on but I’d forgotten most of the lyrics and the lyrics provided on the screen were not romanji!)

Singing to Lene Marlin’s “Sitting Down Here”

Elisia, Perr, Soffie, me and Jo singing along to Spice Girls’ “Wannabe”

I don’t remember what was so funny but it certainly made us laugh our asses off.
Because Jun Wei accidentally leaked out something about that day’s surprise to me, he most certainly got it from the girls. He was sabotaged to sing Britney’s “Baby One More Time” and it was really, really funny when he sang it in a falsetto voice.

Singing to one of our favourite songs: Moon River

Not only was the whole thing a surprise, there was also a surprise cake! Totally chocolatey, yummy and soft, I most certainly enjoyed my cake!

Picture of the Moment: That looks good…
We had reservations at Kenny Rogers Roasters at Marina Square but since we were running late, (gosh, did we sing that long?) we decided to have Swensen’s at China Point.

Clockwise from top left: Elisia, Perrine, CJ, Jo, Soffie, me and PK
I love my friends. And turning 21 is definitely good.
