Saturday’s polo training was fair, I guess. Practiced as a keeper for the second time in matches against the junior guys and the Year 2 seniors. I was rather pleased to be able to block Johnny and Lloyd’s shots But Jun Hong’s power shot went in despite the fact that my paddle came into contact with the ball. Dang, my poor right forearm hurts from the impact

After that, Artello (minus Lizhen) went to Cineleisure to have lunch at Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe. Apparently, it’s been rated as the Chinese version of NYNY by them.

It seems like NYNY is our regular slacking restaurant after trainings. We went there again yesterday after polo just to sit, talk, and basically, slack.

We totally adore the candy floss there. I had two sticks

After that, Hafiz bro asked us if we wanted to go bowling. Initially, our plan for the day was to go bowling or play pool at Marina Square but we were all too tired and felt a tad lazy. That’s why we ended up at NYNY to begin with.

Anyway, since Hafiz was treating the games while we forked out for the shoes rental, we went to bowl with him along with some of the seniors.

It’s funny to see them bowl. Especially after the first game and they were yelling, “Desmond! Even Nadine and Teresa can win you!” that kind of things

Pretty sad that Jolene injured her arm and could not bowl after four balls. Teresa and I ended up playing her share

After that, we parted with the guys and ended up slacking at Coffee Club at Raffles City. The Muddy Mud Pie was awesome as usual but I just could not stomach much food today

I had initially thought of skipping today’s gym training as I still had conjunctivitis not to mention a bad cough. But I decided to train since it has been almost a month since I last went for a gym training :?

Before I left for school, I had actually taken a rather large dosage of cough syrup, in which, unfortunately, made me rather drowsy. So by the time the train pulled up at my stop, I was feeling rather woozy and I could barely walk straight

Ah well, seems like throughout the whole training, I was stoning half the time  Oddly, even though after doing heavy weights as well as 240 push-ups, it was not as bad as circuit trainings on Thursdays

Anyway, after bathing, Joan, Jolene, Geok Cheng, Joycelyn and I went to Clementi’s MacDonald’s to have dinner. (Random rant: Gah! Can’t believe I’m so silly to order regular Jasmine tea when I wanted a medium one!)

Anyway, as the title suggests, Happy Apple is actually our dear Joan. What happened was we were talking about something and whenever Joan laughed, she has this habit of opening her mouth really wide, showing all her nice pearly whites (as well as her relatively-new braces). Apparently, Jolene has been gymming with Joan this evening and kept seeing her pearly whites and told her (while stiffling her own laughter) to please cover her mouth whenever she laughed.

Anyway, basically, Joan was our source of laughter for tonight. And she seemed rather proud of it because she went, “See? I’m your Happy Apple.”

We drew a short blank before bursting out in really loud laughter.

I had literally no idea what she was talking about until she explained that she’s like the ???. Which means someone who makes people happy. And translating that literally, it means ‘happy fruit’. But Joan could not think of the word ‘fruit’ for ? and simply thought of ‘apple’ (??). Thus, ‘Happy Apple’. ????.

My goodness. All of us with the exception of Joan laughed till there were tears in our eyes and our stomachs ached really badly while gasping for air.

It feels great to have a really good and hard laugh with my teammates

The initial plan was to work after training on Saturdays and still go for Sunday’s pool slots. However, it seems like I’m just too worn out as well as burnt out (literally).

After training on Saturday, Jolene, Lilin, Joan, Joycelyn, Teresa and I went to NYNY to slack and have a rather late lunch.

After finishing up, I could feel the exhaustion from the training seeping into my aching body. Gah! By the time I started work, I could literally sleep walk :?

And no matter how badly I want to train on Sundays, Saturday’s sunburns on my poor nose, cheeks and shoulders are always a discouragement
