Good-bye days. Nice song by YUI.

Which totally fits my week. It’s been a series of good-bye days because Jun Wei has left for Australia early yesterday morning.

My whole family turned up to send him off at the airport. So between my family, his family, his relatives and his friends, it was really hard to have an intimate/private goodbye. (Hey! I am a shy person.)

Getting fever is pretty okay. Really. It’s a matter of how high the fever goes. So let’s say one gets a temperature of 37.7 degrees celcius. It’s still rather ok. You won’t die or get sent to the hospital. The most you just take some medication and the fever subsides.

The thing about me is that I’m allergic to the fever medication. Any dosage would result in swollen eyes and rashes for the next couple of days.

So when I was down with fever on Friday afternoon, I went over to Jun Wei‘s place to rest. But by evening, my fever rose to a good 39.1 degrees celcius. Unlike 37.7, 39.1 is really high. I could get sent to the hospital (yuck). So he started sponging me, trying to bring down the temperature.

He ended up calling Mother who told him to give me half a tablet of paracetamol (which is a fever medication that I’m allergic to). I told him I could not take it. But he said my mom told him to give it to me. Knowing I was going to suffer for the next three days, I took it.

When Aunty (Jun Wei’s mother) came in later, she found out that my eyes had indeed swelled. I had no idea since I was trying to sleep. So when she told me my eyes were swollen, my first thought was, “Ohmygosh, I must look like crap now.”

Then the rest was a hurry of calling my parents, arranging to see the doctor, drowning a quick dinner and grabbing a cab to the clinic.

Gah. I can’t believe I am so weak.

And I only found out about two weeks ago. (Thanks for forgetting me Mom.)

My eldest cousin (on my Mom’s side) threw a luncheon at Carlton Hotel to celebrate her son’s first month. Do not be fooled by the shabbiness of the exterior of this hotel because the moment we stepped through the main doors into the lobby of that hotel, Nicole and I went, “Wow.”

The food was really good too, I must say. The black pepper beef dish was my favourite next to the bread pudding

Dylan is simply an adorable baby. And like all babies do, he (more or less) slept throughout the whole event

A rather belated post but I decided to take my time

I had no idea what the programme was going to be as Jun Wei would be planning everything. He just told me to “meet at 1030 at Plaza Singapura“.

We had MacDonald’s for brunch. There, I gave him his anniversary gift. Cost me quite a bomb but it was definitely worth it

After that, we walked to Cathay Cineleisure because the next plan was to go bowling. Little did we know that the alley was closed for a gaming/entertainment centre  We had to walk back because he got us tickets to Cars at the new Cathay House

This is going to be a rather bad review.

I have been wanting to catch this ever since it opened but I realised something: I did not even know when it was going to open! So after hearing every other person going “Man! Did you see…” or “It was so hilarious when…” I decided to go catch it today. (I so needed a break from life!)

I have never, ever laughed so much in a movie before. Not even in a comedy. Every other scene had me doubling over with laughter at Amanda’s goofy-ness. She really is one talented actress next to drama queen Lindsay Lohan. (Which reminds me, next up: Just My Luck!)

By the way, doesn’t the twin look like that dude in O.C.? And doesn’t the friend (Paul) look like Jude Law?

It came as a surprise, and surprise me they did. My canoe junior girls along with Jun Yu gave me a mini pre-celebration for my 21st birthday yesterday along with a lovely chocolate cake.

They were surprised that I did not find out about their plans. I blame it on my blur-ness and slowness. Also, the lack of anticipating anything.

The blue Adidas shoe bag is lovely! Thank you my girls, and yes, I love you too!
