He turned 22 on Sunday (Yay! and oops—a late post) and we had lunch with my family at Koon Kee Restaurant & Pub and dinner with his parents at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao at Ngee Ann City.

Anyway, the weekend was spent doing up ATCs and some digital layouts (since Saturday was (inter)National Scrapbooking Day). Do check out the two layouts I made

I had almost forgotten one exciting thing! I won something at a giveaway on Michelle’s blog! So exciting! (And I was complaining about not winning anything over the weekend.)

I even did a sketch and I really can’t wait to start!

But I don’t have a sewing machine. Nor do I have any sewing needles/threads. And I still have to go through nice clothing that I don’t want anymore. And with the little time I have, I don’t know if I can make one any time soon

Anyway, if you’re wondering about the title, yes, I was coming to that. The original title of this post was actually “itching to do some sewing” but after I wanted to post the sketch of the plushie, I was debating taking a photo (of the sketch) with my iPhone or my digital camera or Guan’s DSLR when I rethought about it since it is really troublesome to keep uploading the photos.

And then, it struck me: Photo Booth!

And then I started playing around with the effects and had a mini-photoshoot

That was a song Nicole and I remember back in our childhood days from and old nursery video but we could not remember the lyrics now. The song follows with: “They all rolled over and one fell out…”

Anyway, Zayden Asher rolled over on his own on Saturday. I was home alone since Guan was working and TIL were out. It was after I changed Zayden and left him in his cot to have his own playtime and I realized that he was unusually silent for a period of time (he tends to cry for attention within ten minutes or less). I had placed him face up but when I checked on his silence, he was face down! And I thought to myself, “Dang! I missed it!”

As happy and thrilled I am with his little baby progressions, this whole flip/roll/turn-over thing has its cons: Zayden can’t stop turning over.

Whenever I place him in his cot, he immediately wants to turn over. It gets really hard to change his diapers now because he keeps wanting to turn over. There was once I told him to stay still and went out of the room for less than half a minute and when I returned, he was belly down

He managed to turn back face up once. But he usually has trouble doing so. That’s when he cries for help

So my family (Dad, Mom, brother, sisters, Guan and Zayden Asher) and I were having lunch and it was so hot we decided to cool off at the local supermarket.

My dad told us to cool down for another five minutes before heading to the carpark while he went ahead to prepare the vehicle. While he was gone, my sisters were playing with Zayden when I saw that he was drooling a lot down his chin.

So I asked who was holding the drool cloth. My mom said my dad was, but she didn’t sound so sure. So I traced back: When Guan was feeding him earlier, I was holding the cloth, but I passed it to him (Guan, not Zayden) when I went to accompany my sisters to get some bubble tea.

Guan said he passed it to my brother when Zayden needed a diaper change. But Zayden dirtied my brother and he needed to wash up so my brother said he passed the cloth to my sister. My sister said she passed it to my dad.

Mom then went, “See? It’s with Daddy.”

So when we got onto the lorry, I asked my dad where the drool cloth was.

“Cloth?” he pointed to my mom.

“Me?” she asked, surprised.

I told my dad about tracing the cloth from me to him and he said he was the one changing Zayden’s diaper so he passed it to the closest person–my mom–and he said she put it into her bag.

“Oh, yeah…” she finally remembered.

Anyway, we are currently on the way to the Science Centre for the Bodyworks exhibition (did I get that right?) Body Worlds exhibition and now my dad is heading the wrong way. WTG dad (if I had a rolling eyes smiley it would go here).

Guan and I went up to the top floor of the block to catch the fireworks. But even though he brought his tripod along, the photographs turned our rather disappointing

I admit, I don’t look my best here (I mean, messy hair and home clothes, need I say more?) but we had fun taking them

Now that we have a DSLR to play with, it’s time to take shots of my acrylic calendar! (Well, will do so another day, perhaps.)

Zayden is the first (and only) baby I know who sucks his index finger instead of his thumb.

I still remember on this day last year, I was still working at Loof as a bartender and having a blast after the clock struck 12 because everyone was spraying water at each other with the bar gun after our assistant manager toasted champagne with us into the new year.

Anyway, 2010 will be a great year. Well, I am planning that it’ll be a great year. I have lots of goals and I hope that I can accomplish them. 2009 kind of failed since I didn’t have much goals set up. But next year would be different.

1. Journal diligently – I used to write in my spiral-bound notebooks/sketchbooks almost every other day back when I was in secondary school. Somewhere down the line two years ago, I stopped. Or rather, I wrote rather inconsistently. I was either too tired or my hand cramped way too easily while furiously writing everything down. I realized that it left a huge gap in my memories and a lot of things remained forgotten

2. Blog frequently – When I first opened my domain, I blogged religiously everyday. I guess it took a whole lot of my time because the reason why I blogged lesser and lesser was that I felt that blogging took quite a huge amount of time. I guess I like things to be neat and I edit every photo I post here (Hint to Guan: Blog more!)

3. Remember people’s birthdays – I always tried to keep up with everyone’s birthdays. I would be faithful in wishing them a birthday greeting. But by around April, I would tend to forget or the dates kept slipping off my mind. I must really try to keep this in 2010

4. Be more crafty – I stopped designing and coding websites for a couple of years now. I still have no passion in redoing my current theme (Laziness. Still, this current layout is nice). And every since I graduated from school, I stopped doing any crafty thing (aside from scrapbooking recently). I hope that my creative mojo would be back next year.

5. Get involved in communities again – I stopped forum posting when I put most of my online life on hold. It’s time to get back to the good ol’ community and make the connections again

6. Brush up on photography – As much as I enjoy photography, I am (as usual) still mediocre. Guan and I got this photography book and it’s all so wordy and full of theory that reading them makes me shudder But he said he would help me out so I hope to take better pictures. I’m not sure if I should do the whole 356 photos a year (one a day) but we’ll see how it goes.

7. Finish up that cross-stitch piece that has been sitting uncompleted for the past year – That kind of spoke for itself

8. Take up Japanese class – Ever since I was 17, I have signed up for three Japanese classes. And I never completed any of them. It’s about time I completed one, eh?

9. Exercise regularly – Ever since I had to stop my late-night running with Felix, I totally stopped exercising. And I found out that I could no longer do a pull-up I have to be able to do my usual three pull-ups at one go!

10. Keep things neat and clean – I have been a very messy person since young. Unfortunately, Guan is also a very messy person. My attempts to keep our room dust-free has not been going well so far. Let alone keeping it neat and tidy. I can now understand what my mother has been trying to teach me all these years. (Thank goodness I don’t have my own home yet!)

Happy Birthday to my awesome dad!

And that means this domain is 6 years old! Wow. It has been a really long time…

I’m going to blog about Saturday’s dinner. Guan and I headed to Bugis Junction with Zayden Asher to try out this new eatery called LENAS.

I found out about the soft launch of LENAS from an e-newsletter that MOF had sent me. Since they had a 1-for-1 pizza/pasta deal, why not give it a try?

The place was wooden—almost literally. The moment I stepped into the restaurant, what struck me was the smell of wood. The table was made of wood, the chairs were made of wood, even a push-trolley at the side was made of wood. And it wasn’t those furniture that has a smooth finish. It’s like, fresh-out-of-the-workshop-kind. I didn’t manage to take any photos of the restaurant but you can have a look here.

(Don’t mind the poor photos. It’s quite hard to get good light without using flash.)

Guan ordered their signature drink—Iced Mint and Lime Tea.

It’s not too bad. And since I was a member at MOF, we had Crisp Parmesan Fries.

Guan ordered a Pepperoni pizza while I had a Hawaiian. And… guess what? They served them on wooden boards!

The pizzas were pretty good. My pizza crust was a bit too burnt but it was still edible. Zayden made it rather hard for Guan to enjoy his meal though. He kept fussing and wanted to be carried and walked around. I had to cut his (Guan’s not Zayden’s) pizza into bite-size pieces and feed him while he had his hands full with Zayden.

Zayden was still fussing after dinner. So instead of putting him in the stroller, I had to carry him back to the car.

Anyway, yesterday, we dinnered at Astons Specialties and we let Zayden have a go with the fork.

And… I’m not going back to Astons anymore because, nearby, Everything with Fries is much nicer

Aside from the red packets, Zayden was given a whole bunch of baby clothes from Carter’s by relatives who had just returned from the states. I shall post photos of the clothes once I find out where the mother-in-law has stashed them.

What I like about visiting this particular relative’s house is that there’s a whole drum set to play with

I signed up for Shimelle‘s online class—Blogging for Scrapbookers and it started on Monday. But, being the usual procrastinator that I have always been, I kinda sorta lagged behind since caring for Zayden Asher takes up practically ALL my time. Well, not to mention checking out Tumblr and helping Guan with his FarmVille on Facebook and looking at deals at 2peas

Anyway, I spent the last weekend meeting new crafty people on the class forum and admiring everyone else crafty and pretty works while I did my usual gawking at pretty papers and layouts

I read up the class notes and have got Google Reader ready And I shall attempt today’s—well, yesterday’s, actually—prompt.

I was on my way to MWL to buy the new MME journaling cards and the fastest way was by the train. And, somehow, I always seem to have very annoying kids taking the same carriage as me.

He was about six and he sounded Filipino and I shall assume that he was sitting (on the reserved seat for those who need) with his mother. I stood in front of him, trying to ignore him while half-gaming, half-tweeting on my iPhone, and he kept whining and fidgeting in his seat. Okay, granted that he’s a kid so given that his butt probably had needles on them, but, did he need to whine (almost) endlessly?

He kept going on and on and moving about in his seat and when he wanted to lie on his mother, he got really comfy by putting his legs up against the glass on the side of the seat. If his legs were any longer, those ugly Crocs would be right in my face

Needless to say, I was pretty thankful when I finally alighted at my stop—only to discover that he and his family alighted along as well

That is why I hope Zayden won’t grow up to be those annoying, irritating, badly-behaved children I see running around, making a ruckus in public I shall do my best! *yosh*

Oh, well. Anyway, I got my journaling cards! But I couldn’t find one of them so my set isn’t complete
